Suzuki has revealed a performance variant of its Swift, called the Swift Sport. The Japanese carmaker will unveil the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
Based on the all-new Swift that will be launched in India very soon, the Swift Sport is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, and produces 134bhp at 4400rpm and 16.31kgm of torque.
In a brief statement Suzuki revealed the Sport offers superior cornering stability and brisker, more responsive handling, thanks to struts with internal rebound springs and an exclusive rear-suspension design.
Styling changes include a larger front grille and more aggressive bodywork. Suzuki promises a cabin (that) combines essential sportiness with a high-quality look and feel, plus design features that heighten excitement about the driving experience.
The bodywork changes mean it is 40mm longer than the standard Swift, but it is the same width and height as the standard car. Safety equipment includes seven airbags and ESP.
Does Maruti have plans to introduce the Swift Sport in India? Well, we certainly hope so!
