2013 BMW 6-Series Review

What a beautiful car for a beautiful day. The 6 series truly has style and passion. New for 2013 is the options of two engine choices, the base model packs a 3.0L I6 producing 315 HP and 330 lb-ft of torque, and while this is enough for the normal get up and go, the other model you get a massive 4.4L turbo V8 producing 445 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque, which is a much faster, and enjoyable car to drive around on the back roads. All choices come with a 8 speed automatic transmission, that is not half as bad as you might think, while you are cruising on the highway, the car shifts into the eighth gear, lowing the RPMS, thus, saving you a lot of gas every year. And you still have the option of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The 6 series has a wonderful exterior, which now features more life, and passion than ever, the interior is also packed with nice things like navigation  backup camera, and even night vision for driving in the dark. With a comfortable and luxurious Interior, the gran coupe is reasonably priced at $76,00 and is also sold in a coupe, convertible and M versions.

Porsche Carrera GT Review

This was one of those cars that really never should have existed, in 2000, for the Paris Auto Show, Porsche decided to make a concept to attract attention to their display, thus, the Porsche Carrera GT was born. The great Porsche GT. the Carrera GT was a 911 on steroids. It packed a 5.7L V10 producing 612 HP and 435 lb- ft of torque, the engine was actually suppose to be in the 1998 GT1 Lemans race car, but Porsche needed to shelve the engine for the design on a up-coming Porsche SUV (later to be named the Cayenne)

.It had a 6 speed manual with power going to the rear wheels. 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 205 MPH. It used a carbon fiber and aluminum body, carbon fiber engine cover, and carbon ceramic disc brakes, massive radiators to cool the big V10, custom shocks and dampers. A total of 1,270 Carrera GT's were made. Although this cars life was short lived, it showed what Porsche was capable of doing when given the right tools.

The whole car was a special edition to Porsche and I hope the upcoming 918 will make that special feeling even stronger.

This car has two of the best things in the automotive world, German built quality, which means this car will drive till the world ends, and you can have pride in doing so with the British looks and engineering, without a doubt, this is the best car you can buy, if you live in the back roads of Virginia, with 190 horsepower at its disposable, and a car that weighs just a little over a ton, and you have a car that cannot be matched in the corners. Some people say that this car is worth twice the base price, and I have to agree. Light car, powerful engine, and you get a @#!*%  of a car.

7. 2013 Ford Focus ST

This little hot hatch packs a punch, actually 210 of them to be precise. For the 2013 model year, Ford brought the ST to the states (still waiting for the RS) and we are glad they did, with 210hp under the hood and enough technology inside to power a spaceship, it makes it one of the coolest cars you can buy right now. On the outside the cool factor continues, with an all backed out honey-comb grill. So you get a sweet ride, with more than enough power to have fun on the back roads, and enough power to make the biggest nerds happy.

6. 2013 Honda Civic Si Sedan

For the younger readers out there, the Honda Civic Si is a perfect choice, our Civic produced around 201hp at 7700rpm, not bad, for such an inexpensive car. While is Honda Civic Si is a fun car to drive, it also has some other factors that make it a great car, like its excellent crash test score, fresh design, and enough room for all of your friends. One of the drawbacks is that is dash is a little clustered. So a fun little car that has plenty of power, and room for the whole gang, sounds like a great car to me.

5. 2013 Mazda MX-5

This car is crazy fun to drive, with an extremely low center of gravity, ridiulessey light (250 less than the FR-S) and a quick shifts, it makes an everyday commute exciting to drive. Although the MX-5 only has 167hp, it�s a joy to drive in the back roads, with a small wheel base, it is glued to the ground at all times. While this is not the most practical car on the list, it is on par, or above the FR-S on handling. So you can buy a crazy fun to drive every day that looks good, and chances are you won't see another on the block anytime soon.

4. BR-Z \ FR-S

Some may say it�s a Toyota or a scion, but the BRZ is a Subaru. Sure the sports car shares components with the FRS and GT-86, but some distinctions and the fact that you are driving a Subaru changes some things. The BRZ along with the others has been said by many to be a great driver�s car and a blast to drive. Though only 200hp and 150 lb-ft of torque, the high revving, rear wheel drive sports coupe is a great deal for a base around $25,000.

 3. 2013 Subaru WRX

The final year of this WRX has come (don't worry the 2014 resigned model will be out soon) But that doesn't mean that the fun has to end, in fact this car is becoming a collectable car, or better known as a modern classic, so if you buy one now, and keep your fingers crossed, you might be able to sell it for quite a good deal in a few years. Enough of the talk of money, and lets talk about the factors that make this a great car. First off, it�s a hatchback, so more than enough room for all of your gear. Secondly, this car is quite peppy, with decent doses of torque off the line. While it won't set any record 0-60 times, it is fast in the bends, in fact, really fast. Although this is a great car to drive, I would spend the extra crash on a STI.

What a sweet sedan this is, how often do you see a Volkswagen this black wheels and red brake calipers?  Not that often I�m guessing, and that is what makes this such a great car to drive, because you know, that there is not going to be another car like it on the block. It�s like the MX-5, you either love the car or you hate it, but it�s not something you see every-day, so even the smallest drives seem special. You want more reasons why you would buy this car? Well for starters it�s fast, with a 0-60 in 6.4 seconds, and a relatively fast figure-8 time of 94.9 seconds. Quick, fun, and cool, perfect for the buyer who needs sedan room, but hatchback fun.

Two Volkswagens in a row! Bonus points for them. This fun to drive hatchback comes into 2013 with small changes, but that does not make it any better of a car than it was a few years ago. With 200hp in the hood, and not that much weight to haul around, it makes for one super-fast car in the corners, and the bends. Not to mention black wheels that look pretty cool, and a huge community of GTI lovers to hang out with when you buy this car. FAQ About Me

as many of you already know, I have recently hit over 100k views on my Teen Car Guy blog. So I�m making this for all of the people who want to know how I make my articles and other things that go into making the Teen Car Guy webpage.

How did you get the idea?

One morning, I came downstairs to get some breakfast before school, it had been a particularly late night because I had been working on a essay that was due today, In my school, there are many essay competitions, and I usually win those. I have always been a great writer, and I�m currently trying to become a grant writer for a non-profit in NC. But writing about how a plant grows, or the dangers of dugs, I wanted to write about cars! Since the day I was born, I have always been a car fanatic, so starting a blog that was about car reviews seemed appropriate.

How Fast Did You Grow?

To give you an idea on how fast this took off, my first month of blogging, December 2012, I obtained 451 page views for the month, fast forward to April 2013, I currently have over 65,000 views for the month, and there's still five days left in April. I never expected it to take off so fast, it�s crazy. February I had around 2000 views, and then march comes along and a achieve 40,000, its great.

What's Your Most Popular Article?

Right this very second it is the Top 10 Cars Under 20k, and that post has a little over 7k views. Strange thing it, my very first post is in close second with a 6400 views. 

How Long Does It Take To Write An Article?  

Most of the time, for my lists, it takes around a week to write, while my reviews only take 2-3 days. Although I�m such a bad speller that I sometimes have to take an hour just to spell check.

What's your dream car?

Right now it has to be the Boss 302, that car is so bad to the bone. 444hp and an array of modifications to make it an absolute beast on the track, make it a top car for me.

What do you want your first car to be?

Realistically, I think a Mini Cooper S would be a great car, that turbo just sounds so good, and I grew up around Minis which I�ll get to that latter, But a Porsche 944 wouldn't be all that bad either, who doesn't like  pop-up headlights!

What got you started on cars?

 Way back in the year 2002, my father bought one of the very first Mini Coopers in the United States (cool right?) And I instantly became in love with the Mini culture. In 2005, after we had done many modifications to the car, and started a Mini Cooper graphics company (Cooper Flags) it was time to move to the freezing cold state of Michigan, which meant the Mini was to be sold. Fast forward to 2012 and we had found a 1974 Austin Mini Cooper for sale, right in our town, so we bought it, although we only kept it for the summer, It was a heck of a car.

Dodge Viper Review

The good old Dodge Viper, Best known for a huge V8, terrible handling, and cheap plastics, but there�s more to this beast than just downright power and speed.

The good old viper packed an 8.4L V10 with 600 HP and 560 lb-ft of torque connected to a manual 6 speed transmission. With all of that power going to the rear wheels. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 202 MPH, made this snake a handful on the track, and on the street for that matter. The old viper was fun and a little dangerous with no traction control or ABS.  The interior was not the best, with cheap plastics and a stale design. The starting price was $91,005 and went up to $113,800 for the ACR final edition model. But the massive V10 under the lengthily hood made anyone who drove it happy, or scared. Of course it came to an end in 2010 but the new SRT viper is better with a much more refined interior, and modern comforts like ABS, and traction control, but still contains the good old viper touch.

Jaguar XFR-S

This is Jaguar's fastest ever saloon car: the new XFR-S, a more powerful, more hardcore version of the firm's XFR. It has been revealed at the Los Angeles motor show today.

The new super-saloon gets the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 from the XKR-S, which gives it 39bhp and 41lb ft more than the XFR. Although the XFR-S is the quickest saloon that Jaguar has built, the official performance figures indicate that it isn't quite as rapid as the more expensive XKR-S.

The saloon reaches 62mph in 4.6sec, whereas the coup' gets there in 4.4sec. However, it's likely that the car will, in real-world conditions, accelerate faster and produce a 0-62mph time approaching that of the coup'.

In addition, the car's 0-100mph time is likely to be 'below 9sec', according to Jaguar's chief vehicle engineer, Mike Cross. That would put it very close to the XKR-S's time of 8.6sec. Top speed is limited to 186mph.

Much of the work carried out in creating the XFR-S has its roots in the development of the F-type. 'There's more F-type learning than there is XKR-S,' said Cross.

So the car has the F-type's Quickshift transmission, in place of the standard six-speed automatic. Quickshift was first unveiled in the new F-type and gives the XFR-S an eight-speed gearbox.

Jaguar claims that Quickshift allows faster gearshifts than the standard automatic and enables the car to provide smooth changes in traffic and rapid shifting under harder driving. It features what Jaguar calls Corner Recognition, by which it can detect when the car enters a bend and hold the right gear for leaving the corner. Fitting Quickshift also means that Jaguar has been able to equip the XFR-S with stop-start.

Jaguar's engineers have uprated the XFR's suspension to improve the car's handling. The suspension is 30 per cent stiffer than the XFR's, and spring rates have been increased by the same amount. XKR-S suspension components have been used at the front, along with new wheel bearings. The rear has a completely new subframe.

As with the XKR-S, the electronic control systems from the R model have been uprated. The Adaptive Dynamics programme (using continuously variable dampers to control body movements) has been altered so that damper rates are much firmer in Dynamic mode.

10. 1990 Porsche 944 Turbo

The 944 Turbo is a great car for several reasons; first of all it�s fast, with a 250hp engine that launches it to 60 in just less than 5.5 seconds, but that�s not the only thing that makes this car great, one of them is this car is that back in the 90�s, it was considered the best handling car ever produced, with Koni front, and rear struts, and control arms, it was unbelievable in the corners, especially with a perfect 50\50 weight balance. Now some of the best things about this car is that it is super inexpensive, with a good, clean one around eight grand. Great value for such a fantastic car.

9.  Mazda RX-7

This has to be the best looking car you can buy for fewer than 10k or 20k for that matter, the style was way ahead of its time and competed with cars that costs nearly twice the price. It carries a twin turbo that ranges from 255hp to 300hp depending on the model you buy. but the best thing about these cars is that the turbo in the car are so easy to modify that some on the road today can push anything from 400hp to almost 700hp. the only problem with the car is that they are a hard bunch to find, with an already low number of them sold in the United States, they are not easy to find, but they have the largest reward factor

8.  Z32 Nissan 300ZX

This twin turbo powered 300ZX was a beast, making just about 300hp in 1990, which by today standards is still very impressive. Often called the �the poor man�s Porsche" and for a good reason to, this car launched from 0-60 in less than 5.5 seconds! (That�s the same 0-60 the 2013 Boxster has) with great handling that you can throw into any corner that any speed, and a shape that has aged well, makes this a fantastic car to buy.

7. 1963 Mini Cooper S

In 1963, the Mini Cooper S was released with the "S" standing for a twisting road (not supercharger) the performance went from 34 to 55 bph. The car featured a racing-tuned engine, twin SU carburetors, a closer-ratio gearbox and front disc brakes, uncommon at the time in a small car. One thousand units of this version were commissioned by management, (source: Wikipedia.org/Mini) they also upgraded the engine size to 1071 cc. But during all of the power changes, the car stayed around the same weight which made it deadly on rally races. Due to these changes, The Mini Cooper S won the 1964, 1965, and 1967 Monte Carlo rally. The series was discontinued in 1971 after eight years of production. So super light and super fast? This thing was made for the track.

6. 1998 Golf GTI

The classic golf GTI came in a few engine options, a 4 cylinder 175hp, and a 200hp V6, both are very fun cars to drive, but where these cars lack in power they gain in awesome handing, and unsurpassed driving fun. If you're looking for a car that has the most smiles per miles, this is the car to get. And with cheap maintenance and easy to fix engine what�s not to love?

5. BMW 850csi

The best car you can buy right now, for the money is the BMW 850csi. It�s by far the most powerful one of the bunch supporting a monster, autobahn worthy V12 engine, launching it from 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, that�s the same as the 300Z, but this car accelerates when you want it to, passing time for this car is a mere 2 seconds! And this car sounds like a genuine German super car. But at the end of the day, you are driving what once was an $80,000 super car that competed with only the best of the best. With the fire breathing V12, downright sexy exterior, and BMW style interior, this car wins on the track, and on the street.

4. 1998 Toyota Supra Turbo

An all time classic that us tuners never forgot. The base Supra made around 330 horse power, but it�s nearly impossible to find a stock Supra, most on the market produce around 500-700hp, while the downright crazy tuners can get around 1000hp out of these beasts. So, a great amount of horsepower, somewhat good looks, and a crazy fun to drive? Might just be the best car on this list.

3. Nissan Skyline R34

There are two types of people in this world, there are the people who believe that classic muscle is the best, and there are the people that think imports rule the streets, but, then we have the people who just don�t care, and they buy this, a downright fun, and cool car to drive that has been loved by all types of car lovers for over 20 years. With most of them on the streets right now pushing 500hp, and an array of modifications for the track, it should not be hard to find a race ready track car for fewer than 15k.

2. 2013 Subaru BRZ

The 2013 Subaru BRZ is a dream come true for sport car fans, lightweight  rear-wheel drive, small, fast, and good looking. The two-way branch with Scion almost seemed too good to be true, with funky, fresh looks from the youth orientated Scion, and the classic 200 horsepower Boxer engine, which is enough to throw it into a corner and enjoy the view sideways. But is it really as good as it seems? Light, fast, and most important, affordable.

1. 2013 Boss 302

On the performance side of things, the Boss gets a larger manifold which produces 25 more horse power over the 2013 GT model, but power, is not the shining light of the 302, it includes larger ani-roll bars, lower control arms, lowering kit, upgraded struts and springs, and a 3.75 gear set. all of this stands out from the GT model and you can tell, after driving the Boss 302, I knew exactly what the cars limits were, and felt confident going into the coroner, although the same cannot be said about the GT, I felt the back end sliding through the entire corner, not to mention I had no confidence on what the car would do.

I hear people talking about how the Boss 302 is the biggest rip off of all time, and it�s not worth the extra 15 grand to buy it, and I�m here to say that the biggest lie I have ever heard, its the best Mustang by far.

BR-Z vs. FR-S

Now you may be wondering, why is there yet another review on the BRZ? Well All Cars News has decided to start writing reviews for the Teen Car Guy webpage, so if you have the time, go check out this fantastic Instagram that is full of automotive information.

Some may say its a Toyota or a scion, but the BRZ is a Subaru. Sure the sports car shares components with the FRS and GT-86, but some distinctions and the fact that you are driving a Subaru changes some things. The BRZ along with the others has been said by many to be a great drivers car and a blast to drive. Though only 200hp and 150 lb-ft of torque, the high revving, rear wheel drive sports coupe is a great deal for a base around $25,000.
 With each different car there are different interior amenities so you could choose either three.One of the big down-falls for the car is the interior, which is different in both cars, the Scions interior is so ugly and outdated that I feel its not even worth mentioning, although the Subaru interior is a little bit better, with a radio that is nicely placed, and easy-to-use buttons. Its not a bad interior, with the Subaru racing seats, red stitching  and sporty shiftier, its meant to be driven in, and is far better than the Scions interior, but it wouldn't take much to beat the Scions interior.. 

Sadly, GT-86 which really gets the best of both cars, is not sold in the U.S so you would only have to choose between the FRS and BRZ. Though not as powerful as people want, you get a great handling car that is fun to drive but probably not so much for the track. 0-60 times are ok at 7.3 on the BRZ. Fuel economy is good at 22/30 on the BRZ, FRS and GT-86 for the manual transmission, 22/34 for the automatic. Though all cars look almost alike, the FRS and GT-86 wear a special badge for the legendary original GT-86 but the BRZ doesn't because Subaru is not owned by Toyota. With the cars you get a sporty coupe design with 4 seats, if your rear seat passengers are pieces of spaghetti. If you are truly looking for an affordable, fun to drive sports car, then you should consider one of these great cars. Just minor distinctions would make someone have a tough time deciding on which one to pick, also the factor of which country you live in.

Skoda Octavia

Skoda has revealed its first official pictures of the all-new Octavia ' a car it calls the 'heart of the brand'.

Based on the same MQB platform as the new VW Golf, Audi A3 and SEAT Leon, the third-generation Octavia is bigger and more efficient, but maintains the same value-for-money proposition that's made Skoda such a hit. Prices are likely to start from around '14,000 when it goes on sale in March.

Compared to its predecessor, the car is 90mm longer, 45mm wider and the wheelbase has been stretched by 108mm, making the interior even more spacious than before.

Skoda claims no other car in this segment offers more rear knee and headroom, while the familiar saloon bodyshape with a hatchback tailgate allows a 590-litre boot ' also top of the class. By comparison, the new VW Golf can muster only 380 litres with the seats in place.

Skoda's design team likes to keep things simple, and the new Octavia's clean-cut lines demonstrate this philosophy perfectly. Smaller headlights and a wider, lower grille add more aggression to the nose, while the longer wheelbase and shorter front and rear overhangs give a sportier profile. A pronounced flick at the rear of the window line ' a 'Hoffmeister kink' ' adds further character to the chiselled looks.

The interior continues the tidy and uncluttered design, with a much larger central touchscreen and higher-quality switchgear from the MQB parts bin. As with other cars in the family, Skoda has managed to strip the car's kerbweight ' by up to 102kg.

As a result, the engine range breaks new ground in terms of efficiency. Although the full line-up is yet to be revealed, the cleanest car will be the Greenline version of the 110bhp 1.6 TDI. This adds stop-start and brake energy recuperation, returning a superb 83.1mpg and producing only 89g/km of CO2 ' identical figures to the forthcoming 104bhp Ford Focus ECOnetic. A 2.0 TDI engine will also be offered, in a variety of outputs.

A range of four TSI petrol turbos is planned, including a 1.2 TSI with 84bhp and 104bhp, a 120bhp 1.4 TSI and a 179bhp 1.8 TSI. Skoda also confirmed that four-wheel-drive models are in the pipeline, and a sporty RS trim level will be offered. A more powerful vRS variant is expected to join the range in 2014. Acura MDX

This artsy rendering is our first look at the 2014 Acura MDX concept, which will make its debut next month at the Detroit auto show. This teaser hints at the styling of the concept car, although it's worth noting that Acura 'concept' vehicles tend to be almost identical to the eventual production models.

Even though this line drawing doesn't show much, we already have a good idea what the 2014 Acura MDX looks like thanks to spy shots. As was the case with the redesigned Acura RDX crossover, the new MDX will probably adopt a tamer front 'beak' grille and more pronounced creases in the body-side sheetmetal. Spy shots have revealed LED taillights and the same 'Jewel Eye' LED headlights that will debut on the 2014 Acura RLX sedan.

Acura says the 2014 MDX uses 'Aero Sculpture' design language that is supposed to be both attractive and functional. Translation: the new crossover is far more aerodynamic, helping improve highway fuel economy. The company also promises its new model 'will feature alluring proportions with smooth, arching body lines.' Spy shots of the 2014 MDX are shown at right and below.

 Under the hood, reports suggest the new MDX will employ the same direct-injected, 310-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine as the RLX. Yet while the RLX will have a traditional six-speed automatic, we've previously reported that the MDX could introduce a new nine-speed automatic to the Acura range. The ZF-sourced transmission is reportedly suited to two- and four-wheel-drive configurations, making it ideal for a crossover like the MDX.

The flagship model could employ a hybrid all-wheel-drive system, similar to the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD drivetrain available in the 2014 RLX. It combines a V-6 engine with an integrated motor/generator, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and an electric motor at each rear wheel. It not only improves acceleration and fuel economy, but also allows for torque vectoring during cornering.

When the 2014 Acura MDX concept debuts at the Detroit show, expect it to look almost exactly like a production car. As noted, Honda and Acura tend to only change minor details like lights or wheels from the concept stage to real on-sale cars. The 2014 Acura MDX will go on sale by fall 2013.

South Korea has given us a lot of great things over the years, like Psy, but today they give us the all new 2013 Santa Fe Sport SUV.  Now, this is a great car for several reasons, but the best is that it is great value with prices starting at just 24,450 and the fully loaded model tops out at 29,450. Some other cool perks about the Santa Fe, is that no matter what model, or options you get, there all very well equipped, with the base model includes navigation  and Bluetooth  and the Top-Of-the-Line model induces a moon roof, leather, DVD system, headed & cooled cup holders some awesome wheels, the list goes on. While all of these things are nice on the inside, there's no doubt that this is a sexy looking car, and it actually looks pretty aggressive. So good looking, well equipped, and easy on the wallet? South Korea has done well.

BMW M6 Grand Couple

BMW finally launched the official photos with information detail of BMW M6 Grand Couple after secretly introducing it in one event at November.

Located between the BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M5 sports sedan filled a small space in the BMW product line and will be available in the summer of 2013, with the rival Audi S7 and Mercedes CLS63.

Just like the model M5 and M6, BMW M6 Gran Coupe uses a 4.4 liter supercharged V8 direct fuel injection, dual turbines with a capacity of 560 hp and maximum torque of 678 Nm. The power from the engine sent to the rear axle via dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox with active differential control system.

German carmaker said the BMW M6 Gran Coupe has a top speed of 249 km / h and takes 4.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h. As expected, the brakes have been upgraded with combs 6 piston. And to create personality, customers can choose from M1 or M2 mode using the buttons on the steering wheel with sports M1 and M2-style track.

Overall design, sports sedan changes like body kit more aggressive, the hood is the display of carbon fiber, painted brake clamp stand and 20-inch wheels with high-performance tires .

In the cabin, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe also has upgraded as premium leather Alcantara, 3-spoke sport steering wheel. BMW has not announced fuel consumption and the price of new models. Expected M6 Gran Coupe will join the Detroit Motor Show (USA) took place on May 1/2013.
