Audi S5 Cabriolet

Audi S5 Cabriolet (2012)
The top models in the series - the S5 as Sportback, Coupe and Cabriolet - have also been refreshed. All S5 models, including the Coupé, are now equipped with the 3.0 TFSI producing 245 kW (333 hp). Compared to the 4.2-liter V8 it replaces in the Coupé, the supercharged V6 consumes on average 20 percent less fuel per 100 kilometers. Average fuel consumption is just 8.1 liters (29.04 US mpg) while performance remains impressive. The S5 Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 4.9 seconds on its way to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph).

Engines
The Audi A5 family sets new standards for sportiness and efficiency. All engines feature forced induction and direct injection for tremendous pulling power. Even the entry-level engine produces 320 Nm (236.02 lb-ft) of torque. The start-stop system and the recuperation system are standard with all engines - no other manufacturer takes such a rigorous approach. The lineup comprises three gasoline engines and four TDI units. CO2 emissions have been reduced by as much as 22 percent. The completely redesigned 1.8 TFSI showcases the full extent of Audi's expertise. Groundbreaking innovations can be found in the control of the valves and their lift, the thermal management concept, the injection system, the turbocharger and the integration of the exhaust manifold. In the Audi A5 Coupé, the high-end four-cylinder unit consumes on average just 5.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (41.27 US mpg). This best-in-class value corresponds to 134 grams CO2 per km (215.65 g/mile) and is 21 percent lower than before. With 125 kW (170 hp), the 1.8 TFSI accelerates the A5 powerfully. The output of the 2.0 TFSI remains unchanged at 155 kW (211 hp). New to the Audi A5 lineup is the 3.0 TFSI, a supercharged V6 producing 200 kW (272 hp). The diesel engines are also impressively efficient, and the four-cylinder units feature modifications in numerous areas. Equipped with the 130 kW (177 hp) 2.0 TDI and a manual transmission, the Audi A5 Coupé consumes on average just 4.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (50.05 US mpg) - a CO2 equivalent of 122 g per km (196.34 g/mile) and a milestone in the coupe segment.

Three V6 diesel units round out the lineup on the top end. The 3.0 TDI with 150 kW (204 hp) is the most fuel-efficient six-cylinder unit in its class worldwide. In the Audi A5 Coupé with multitronic, it consumes on average 4.9 liters (48 US mpg) of fuel and emits just 129 grams CO2 per km (207.61 g/mile). The second variant of the 3.0 TDI produces 180 kW (245 hp). Arriving somewhat later is a particularly low-emissions clean diesel model that will make the Audi A5 the first coupe on the market to meet the Euro 6 diesel standard. source : netcarshow.com

Top 10 Cars Under 20k

Teen Car Guy is back with another Top 10 List! And this time i'm bringing you the best cars that you can find under 20 grand! and you will be shocked to see what's on this list, everything from`a iconic supercar, to a fire breathing muscle car. yep, this is one of my most surprising list. One of the reasons I made this list is because people need to realize the great car deals they can get if they just look around a bit. So run away from the overpriced new car lots, and take a peek at the wide selection of used cars on the market.

10. 2007 WRX STI

The 300hp rally killer made it onto the list of the fastest cars under 20k. But it did not just drive its away on the list, its earned its place. With several world rally wins under this design, and the famous Ken Block used the next generation also. So you can expect the legacy to continue with this model year. Inside the car you will find some nice things, like STI racing seats, turbo gauges, as well as the standard STI body modifications. But that's not the only thing they did to the new STI, they also added a new intercooler, larger intake, better fuel injectors, pulleys, upgraded EPU, as well as a STI exoust. So all of this awesomeness for just under 20k? Yep, most sell for around 16-18k, but if you're lucky, you might be able to find a 2008 model for just a little over 20k.

9. 2010 Mini Cooper- John Cooper Works

This car has two of the best things in the automotive world, German built quality, which means this car will drive till the world ends, and you can have pride in doing so with the British looks and engineering, without a doubt, this is the best car you can buy if you live in the back roads of Virgina. With 207 horse power at its disposable, and a car that weighs just a little over a ton, and you have a car that cannot be matched in the corners. You can go out today and buy a used version of this car for about, 23k which some people would say that this car is worth twice that amount. Light car, powerful engine, and you get a  @#!*%  of a car.

8.2011 Nissan 370Z

The 370Z is one of the best cars you can buy right now for the money, very reliable cars, and all 370Zs come with a sport tuned suspension, so going into the mountain roads will always be a joy to ride, and Rev Mach system that makes sure that every down shift is seamless, and as quick as possible. For a V6 engine the car has an impressive 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds, and thats plenty of power for you to play within the twisty back roads.

7. 2010 Mazada RX-8 Sport

While the normal RX-8 packs a punch, the sport version is a level up with a sport tuned suspension grip tires, and other handy things like lower control arms and anti-sway bars. What does all of this sport orientated stuff get you? a fast, good looking, coroner hugging, speed demon, yes, that was quite a description, but only the best words can describe this fun to drive car. Not to mention you can get 25mpg around town and a back seat for the kids.

6.2008 Infiniti G35-37

Infinity got it right this time with the G35. The V6 produces around 320hp (same engine in the 350z) and includes very sporty brakes, some say the brakes, and the handling are on par with the M3, although the power might not match up to the M3, its looks, and practicality do. With a huge trunk, and room for people over 6ft. great sedan for the guy who doesn't want to trade in his man card for a Lexus.

5. BMW E46 M3

Dont get me wrong, all of these cars on this list our great, but when it comes to choosing the best, this is the car. This is the sexiest looking car you can buy, and I still think that this was the best M3 that was ever created, its fast, very good looking, Luxurious, and downright fun car to drive. I believe that this was the best car you could have bought in 2004, and I still think its the best car you can buy in 2012.

4. 1991 NSX

If you have been a long time reader of my blog, you know, that in every article, there is a car that does not make any sense and is completely impractical. But yet I seem to do it every time, and I couldnt help myself this time. The NSX, a base level super car sold new for about 80 grand ( yesterdays GT-R) and it was worth it, some say it was the best handling car of its time, plus, it was one of  the first cars to use mid-engine layout for best handling. It is, in my opinion, one of the best cars you can buy under 20k.

3. 2008 SRT-8 Dodge Charger

This is the definition of a practical muscle car, huge trunk for golf clubs, huge back seat for adults, and a spacious cabin. On the outside the car boasts a very classic stance, and a bold presents. But what you dont see is the best part; this car holds a monster 6.1lt V8 engine that produces 425-horsepower, not bad, for a sedan that you can drive to work every day.

2. 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK AMG

The AMG series makes its way onto my blog for the 3rd time, but this time it is cheaper than ever! with most versions of this car selling for around 17-18grand, theres no other reason than not to buy this German machine of awesomeness (yes) with more than 400 horses under the hood, and a German sedan that once sold for over 70k. so in the end, you could have this, or a Dodge Dart, your choice.

1.2008 Audi S4

Although you might have to hunt for this car a little bit, its well worth it. With a strong V8, and a car that was designed to be light on its feet, and nimble in the corners .although plus about this car is that it is only five years old, and in those short years it devalued almost $5,000 a year! (Thats above the average) so you can get a great little sports sedan, and know it hold its value, because it has already done most of its loses. So somebodys lose, is your gain.

( Please note that there are a lot of cars that are great for under 20k, if you need some more ideas, or want to suggest a car, please leave a comment )

Top 10 Fastest Cars Under 40k

You're a successful business person, and on your away to a fine career, but you need to define yourself, after all, you cant drive up a meeting with millionaires driving a Honda Civic, but you're not a man of just any old sedan, nope, only high-power V8's will cross your mind, but you are still young in your career. So you do not have the money to blow on a 2012 BMW M5, or a Audi A8, both of witch  will set you back 90k. Although you do have around 40 grand in your pocket to spend on a reasonably priced, nicely equipped sport luxury sedans. So in this list are the best cars under 40k

5.-Lexus IS-F

This 400+ horsepower demon has charged its way onto the list. It packs a 425 horsepower engine that launches it from 0-60 in less than 4.7 seconds, that's just about as fast as a 2013 Mustang GT. Although in the IS-F you get a ton of features, like standard navigation an adjustable suspension (Sport mode, Eco mode, and Comfort mode) 8-way power seats, and dual zone climate control, all the nice things you would find on a M5, without the 80k price tag.

4. 2009 Audi A8

Its the top-of-the-line Audi A8, and when I mean top of the line, Im not kidding. This car would have sold for around 20 grand more than what you can pick it up for today. And whats not to love, big V8, navigation, power-everything, and not to mention, handsome style.

3. 2009 CTS-V

If you do not already know, the CTS-V claims the title of being the fastest production sedan, of all time. So what does this mean to you? for starters, it packs 556 horsepower that launches it from 0-60 in less than 4.2 seconds. As you might be thinking, its an American car, so it probably just falls apart in the corners, you're wrong, this car does weigh hefty two-tons, but you would never know. This thing looks, rides, and sounds like a dream.

2.  2009 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Forget the long and boring name, after all you can simply just call this car "The Boss" and you will feel like one to, once you step inside leather is on every imaginable surface in the car, beautiful interior, but this is a list of the fastest cars, not the prettiest. So lets start with the AMG engine that pulls out an amazing 468 horsepower! but you might be saying `"well its a large sedan" but all I have to do to prove it to you that this is a insanely fast car is to read the reviews online, there all great, crazy fast car, with an superb interior, you cant go wrong with this car, and with prices just starting to dip under 40k, theres no better time than now.

1.2009 BMW M5

After talking smack about the car the whole article, I had to put in into the list, just to be fair. A V10 engine sends around 500hp to the rear wheels. But even though I do not really like this car, its still a good buy, V10 power! YouTube has 200mph runs, not to mention the array of aftermarket parts to turn this into a serious racing machine to be reckoned with. So if it comes down to driving a Civic to a meeting, Ill take the M5.

Detroit Auto Show Review

In years North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) was a huge success, it feels like car companies are ready to make a bold recovery from the 2009 bailouts that almost led to the fall of the "Big three" Nearly every car company had more cars there than they have had is recent years, not to mention the most world premiers, the auto show has seen in a long time. So what did I think about the show on my trip up to the cold, city of Detroit? Here is the complete review of all of the auto-makers that made their presence at this years North American Auto Show.

-Audi-

RS7- Audi decided that it was time to bring the much wanted RS7 to the states, which is great because it packs 560 horsepower that launches it from 0-60 in less than four seconds, all that power gets delivered by 565lb, and even more impressive Audi claims that it will provide an average 24 miles to the gallon. Although all this awesome comes with a price, expect the car to cost around 70 grand.

A6 TDI- Much like a RS7 but a little but smaller, and quite a bit less power to work with, not to mention a diesel engine, but it is a very good looking car. reports say that this engine can get over 35mpg, and with a diesel engine, you will be looking good in this car for a long time, with most engine life expectancy around 15-20 years!

-Chevy-
Corvette Stingray- This is probably not news to you that the C7 has been released in Detroit this year, The C7 Corvette has taken some big risks in the style, but it looks like those risks turned out to be huge success, the new headlights are exposed (sorry C2-C5 fans) and have a much more aggressive look to them, with sharp lines, with a slimmer look to them. The taillights look light they smashed the lights from the C5, and the C6, and then blacked them out, and surprisingly, its a great combination, looks mean, yet has the retro look. The body is now being switched from using steel, to using aluminum, which is lighter, and stronger, so you can make the most out of the 480hp. So win for you and Chevy.

-Ford-
Atlas- This new truck was the making of the people at Ford trucks, although nothing was been released about the truck yet, I doubt it will ever make it to production; no specs have yet to have been shown, although I could see some of the features carrying over to future F-150

-Tesla-
Model S- yep, I thought, as did many other people, the Telsa was the best car in 2012, not just for its amazing power, and 0-60 times for being an all eclectic car, its the ground breaking technology thats in the car, the dashboard is all computerized, "Its like one big iPad". The car is also has great range, around 150-250 miles on all eclectic mode, which is impressive for a car this big. although you may be thinking this is an expensive car, its costs around the same as a 5-Series BMW, and the upper range model is on target with the A8, and the BMW- 7 series, and i think its better than all of them by far.

-RAM-
1500- Ram brings out its award wining truck back for 2013, and this time it takes home the cake with the Motor Trend Car of the Year award. The exterior has some slight charges, new grill, slightly more aggressive headlights, and some handy things around the outside, like a gun rack, and even a cooler. But, Ram is not the one who designed the truck, neither is Fiat, Nissan is the Mastermind behind this, not to mention the suspension was designed by Nissan, which Ram got most of the credit for. So why dose Nissan not have a truck? Several reasons, when the huge earthquake struck that would have been around the time Nissan would have sent off the new Titan, also complications with Fiat stopped the deal around halfway through the process, so we should all wait and see what Nissan has up its sleeve.

-Acura-
NSX- Back from the dead is the far-to-long-gone NSX from the unlikely brand of Acura, from the looks of the car, it seems to be made of mostly carbon fiber, even the wheels have carbon inserts to save weight. Nothing much has been released on the car, other than it looks like a dirctet competitor with the LFA; its expected to cost quite a bit less to.

-Mercedes Benz-
CLA- as you might have seen in the Super Bowl add this year, this stunning looking car starts at just 29 grand. Even better news, the AMG version has been planed, huge, twin turbo V8 is expected, plan for a jaw dropping 500+ horsepower, and a even more jaw dropping price tag of $70,000

Other than that, their entire line-up as been updated, theres a bit too much to put into this article, but I will be putting allot more time into this new line-up this year.

-Jeep-
SRT-8 Grand Cherokee- If you have not already seen this car I recommend you do it. It is by far, the most bad- @#!*% car ever, I mean, who does not want a huge Jeep to haul all of your friends, and there gear to go skiing or whatever you want do. Other cool things with beast contains are launch control, and all of the standard things you find on a 50k SUV. SRT really out-did themselves with this car, it looks great, makes over 400 horsepower, and sounds amazing, hats off to the most bad @#!*% SUV ever.

-Infinity-
Q50- The aging brand has brought back the once loved Q50! But they do not want you to remember the past, because the future looks bright. Infinity is trying to make the "steer by wire" system work, and so far, they are getting closer, and if it makes it into production, it will be a game changer; this system could make a huge leap in safety in cars. Good luck to them, and look at those headlights, by far, the best looking in the business.

KIA Optima

KIA Optima,

The 2011 Kia Optima is redesigned with freshened styling and a new gas/electric hybrid model. This midsize car shares elements of its basic design and powertrains with the 2011 Hyundai Sonata produced by Kia's corporate parent. Optima reprises its LX, EX, and SX trim levels, and adds a Hybrid model for 2011. LX and EX have a 200-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. That engine replaces a 175-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a 194-horsepower 2.7-liter V6. Standard on SX and available on EX is a 274-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. A 6-speed manual transmission is available only on LX. A 6-speed automatic is optional for that model, and is standard otherwise. The Hybrid uses a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and a battery-powered electric motor for 206 horsepower total. It's connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid can run on one or both its sources to balance acceleration and fuel economy. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front-side airbags, and curtain-side airbags. Available features include heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a wireless cell-phone link, air-conditioned glovebox, panoramic sunroof, and a navigation system.

Subaru BRZ

The 2013 Subaru BRZ is a dream come true for sport car fans, lightweight  rear-wheel drive, small, fast, and good looking. The two-way branch with Scion almost seemed to good to be true, with funky, fresh looks from the youth orientated Scoin, and the classic 200 horsepower Boxer engine, which is enough to throw it into a corner and enjoy the view sideways. but is it really as good as it seems? light, fast, and most important, affordable  I will go over what makes this a great car, and i might go over some not-so-great things about this car to.

First things first, the engine. For the brand new BRZ Subaru supplied the 200 horsepower engine, it is good for around 155lb of tourq, and a 0-60 time of 7.3 seconds. which is enough to have fun, but the real thrill seekers might want to wait a little bit, because Subaru has announced that a turbo option will be available later this year, but if you can not wait, there are plenty of turbo options to upgrade that naturally aspirated engine into a 260 horsepower tire spinning machine. but the stock engine is great, gives out a fun, and perky note, good gas mileage, and a decent power that will make you smile.
One of the big down-falls for the car is the interior  there different in both cars, the Scoins interior is so ugly and outdated that i feel its not even worth mentioning, although the Subaru interior is a little bit better, with a radio that is nicely placed, and easy-to-use buttons  this is not a bad interior, with the Subaru racing seats, red stitching  and sporty shiftier, its meant to be driven in, and is far better than the Scions interior, but it wouldn't take much to beat the Scions interior.

Now one of the biggest reasons you're going to buy a car are the looks. while there are many great sports cars out on the market right now, there are a few that turns heads, for the wrong reasons (G37, Acura TL) They all have good intentions, but some times, they fail, and sale will show. but what about the BRZ? to me, looks like a very, youth orientated designed car, but that does that mean a 40-year old will not unjoy the styling, in fact, i love the looks. during testing, I stopped at a gas station, and the man across from my pump asked "hey, is that the new Porsche or something? " well, he probably is not a car guy, but it shows that this car looks more like a 50k car, not a car that you can pick up at your local dealer for less than 30k.

On the road this car feels like a dream, sporty, fast, and super fun! it almost feels like a 200 horsepower Mini Cooper, glued to the road at all times. though the handling is above par, is could be better, allot better, for starters, the tires are absolute crap, seriously,  terrible tires, but i do think that the masterminds at Subaru did this for a reason, because the only time I really need good tires is when im going law-breaking speeds, but most of the time, i'm driving to the store to pick up some eggs, so while high quality tires might help you stick to the road, the cheap tires that come stock on the BRZ are a allot more fun, because sometimes when something is to good, it turns out to be bad.

after my stay with this car was over i was sad, although I love driving my 450 horsepower Mustang, somehow I managed to have allot more fun in a car that has nearly half the horsepower, but the way this car handles just puts a smile on your face. The ease of putting this car into a drift surprising  and there is not much i do not like about this car, an extra 70 horsepower would be nice, but Subaru already has plans for that.
at the end of the day, you might pay an extra $2500 for the Subaru, but you get a ton of stuff, navigation, STI racing seats, and most important, at the end of the day, you're driving a Subaru.

2013 Ram 1500

Motor Trend decided that the Ram 1500 is the Truck of the Year, so I decided that I should take one out and see what I think about this new truck that everybody is raving about.

First lets start with the engine, the one I tested came with the new 305hp Penastar V6, which is also used in the Dodge Charger, and Chrysler 300 (Im sure Im missing some), but even though 305hp is not that much horsepower in a truck, it still has a towing capacity of 5,900 which is respectable, but it also has very good gas mileage, the one I drove averaged about 19mpg, great, for a two ton car. The power delivery is also very impressive; it almost feels like youre driving a Chrysler 300 with a tow hitch. while other cars in this segment feel huge bulky, and gas thirsty, this Ram feels more of a smooth, and the steering is very precise, so you always know where you are going to go, so you could say that Im starting to understand why this was the Truck Of the Year

Some of the biggest improvements for the 2013 Ram are inside the car; with more of a sedan feeling instead of a ugly looking 90's interior witch can be found on some trucks still (Nissan Titan). The truck i tested came with black leather, navigation, and soft touch plastic. A huge improvement over the last model which consisted of hard plastic, cloth, an outdated interior, but I have to admit, a truck is not meant to be a nice place to sit in, and the prices you have to pay now are just crazy! The F-150 starts at around 40 grand! To put that into perspective, you could buy a 2003 Aston Martin Vantage for 45 grand, but of coarse thats for two very different buyers, but still, thats a large price to pay.

So, yes, I do think the 2013 Ram is worthy of the Truck Of the Year badge, but I do think that it did not have much of competition, The F-150 is a great truck, but has many flaws, Chevy, Toyota, and Nissans trucks are all out dated and in much need of updating, so while the Ram might steal the title now, the 2014 Truck of the Year will be a completely different story.
