Dear Mother
It has probably come to your attention that my brother and I have not quite agreed on the topics of this current war we are in. We disagreed on our thoughts on politics, so we parted our ways, in a matter, we separated to far from each other. I became blinded by hate and stubbornness. I soon after the event I recently encountered, I realized that my vision was suborn, and foolish, I neglected to see the other point of view that he started fighting for, and not too long after I joined my part in the war� I forgot mine. This fatal mistake will cost our family greatly. 
I am sorry to inform you that your son has died by the hands of myself. That is currently all I am willing to say to you in the matter of communication. I hope to talk to you about this mournful event when I see you, when that is, I am unsure.

Best Cars For Autocross

Yes ladies and gentlemen, the Teen Car Guy is back! Let�s not get carried away now in excitement shall we. I am here today to talk about the joys of autocross. I myself am just starting to get into the sport and now have a great interest for it and can't wait to get started, although I should give you some buying tips. When looking for a car, try and find a salvage vehicle, they tend to be less expensive and you might end up wrecking this car anyway. I also recommend doing a great deal of research on the car you are willing to buy, make sure that it fits in the rules and regulations of your track and SCCA. Don't forget that tires and wheels will make the absolute biggest difference in you driving experience. (This list is in no particular order; the car that is the best, is the one that best suits you)

10. Porsche 944


This is pretty much a fantastic autocross car. First let�s cover the goods. 50/50 weight on all sides, a must for good handling, more positive things about the 944 is that you can find them in good running shape for under 6k (you're going to be tracking it, so if a few dings here and there, and if the radio doesn't work it won�t matter to you) It�s also light, although I recommend taking your car to the scales to get an exact number, different model years and options vary the factor, but expect it to be between 2700 & 3100 lbs. The bad include parts can run a bit high, so try and find an engine in respectable shape when you buy. Check out this link for further information, 944 buying guide.

9. Mini Cooper


One of my all time favorite cars of all time has to be the Mini Cooper. It�s built for handing, and of course, fun. While I do have quite a bit of firsthand experience with Minis, this works on all autocross cars. Just remember the less powerful your car is, the more important weight reduction is.


  • Back seat removal can reduce around 60 lbs.
  • All glass needs to go. (Depending on what class you are racing in)
  • Passenger seat removal, and replace driver�s seat with lightweight tack seat. 
  • Taking out the A/C unit saves about 10 lbs
  •  Sound system and interior trim.
  • Cold air intake- 8-12 hp gain
  • Full Exhaust system- 10-14 hp gain
  • Chip- 5-8 hp gain

8. 1990 Nissan 240sx


I grew up around Nissans so it�s hard not to include the 240sx. The good side about the 240sx is that it is dirt cheap to buy, and own. Parts are easy to find, and can often be had at a good bargain. While its 140hp and 152 ft-lbs, isn't impressive, it�s only hauling 2684 lbs around, and after some serious weight reduction, that number can get down to 2500 lbs. After a few performance modifications, you have a serious track contender.

7. 1990-99 Mazda Miata


Let�s get this straight; I do not like the Miata, at all. Although there are plenty of people that do, in fact love the Miata, so for its street reputation, it has made the list. For a quick memory jog, the Miata is powered by a 1.8L 4-cyl engine that produces around 128 hp @ 6500 rpm, and 110 ft-lbs. @ 5000 rpm. So you're probably thinking "Only 128 hp? This car better be light as a feather" And in fact it does, with only a mere 2300 lbs curb weight. So why don't I like this car? Generally Miata�s are classed in the same class, so if 50 guys are driving the same car, its hard on the novice driver who relies on the certain strong point of his or her car.

6. 92-95 Civic SI


If you want something inexpensive to buy, like $1,000 inexpensive, The Civic SI might be for you. It only makes a mere, 125 hp & 106 lb-ft. So the engine specs are not to overly impressive, but this hatchback only carries around 2390 lbs and after some simple weight reduction, you should be clocking in at under 2250 lbs. If you have not already realized, the specs on the Civic are just about the same as the Miata, but don't be fooled, they are completely different cars. While the Miata is a rear wheel drive car, the Civic is a front wheel drive car, so if you're a novice driver, or you're new to autocross, I recommend purchasing a front wheel drive car, just because it is much more easy to push a front wheel drive car to it limits.

5. Mitsubishi Starion 


The Mitsubishi Starion is like the nerdy kid in high school, nobody really pays attention to him, then get gets sick of it and goes to the gym for four years straight, and now everybody loves him. So what I am trying to say is that the Starion it needs to go to the gym to lose some weight before people will pay attention to your scores. First off this car is very eltronic heavy, remember the 80's when it was cool to have everything digital? Well being cool comes at a price, electric seat belts, digital dash, power windows and a eight set cassette player weigh a lot, so first thing you need to do it strip down the interior. After a decent weight reduction, you know have a lightweight car, that produces 188 hp, and should tip the scales at 2600 lbs. Plus you get pop-up headlights.

4. 1997 BMW M3


Why is a full size sedan on an autocross list? I don't really know either but I do know that this is a popular car to bring down to the track on Sunday. For starters it makes 240 hp and 236 lb-ft. So it�s pulling out the most impressive numbers, but before you get too excited, you are going to have to do some serious work to get that base 3175 lbs weight down. Now what's good about getting a large car is that small things make a big difference. Those nice leather seats can be replaced with super lightweight Recaro seats, and you can throw out the back seat all together. Those modifications alone should knock off 150 lbs. After getting rid of the sound system, glass, A/C, trim, and radio, you should be around 2750 lbs. I reckon this would be an awesome track car. (I highly recommend updating the brake rotors for this car)

3.  Mazda RX-7



You might have a hard time finding one, but its well worth the return. With drop dead gorgeous looks, 255 hp and only 2858 lbs of meat to carry around, makes this car one of my favorites of all time to drive. The only problem I would have if I bought this for track use, is the tear down of the interior, and most of the OEM parts. So try and find one that is not quite the best looking car on the road, but mechanically sound. Otherwise you will end up turning it into a garage queen and forget the reason you bought the car in the first place.

2.  Subaru BRZ




For the people out there that can afford to put down $20k on a second car, the BRZ is for you. With only 2763 lbs of steel to carry around and a 200 hp Boxster engine, it will fly around any track. Instead of weight reduction for the BRZ, go for some engine modifications (check your SCCA class first) best things I can think of are as follows
  • Cold air intake 7-10 hp
  • Full Exhaust system 10-13 hp
  • Chip 5-8 hp
All of these parts should run you about two grand. Well worth the amount of smiles they will generate.

1.  Honda S2000



This 240 hp machine of awesome is just about as good as it gets for the autocross world. Its very light, weighing in at 2835 lbs, with some simple weight reduction, and a little work you can get that curb weight down 2700 lbs. While being the downright quickest car in the lot, it is also dirt cheap to own and drive. With parts being very widely available, and an easy to work on engine makes this car one of the most reasonable to purchase. Expect to pay around 10 grand upfront for a decent looking S2000. Also expect lots of fun owning one of the best autocross cars of all time.


Top 10 Cars Under 100k






Chances are, you don�t have a spare 100k lying around the house, but you would like to know what your options are in the future? Look no further than this article, although I must go though some rules on buying an exotic car. First off, never buy a super car straight off the dealer floor new, your $248,000 Ferrari 458 turns into a $235,000 car that very instant, and the first 10,000 miles might cost you more than $20,000 in deprecation.  While saving a few bucks is important, it seems like every day you see in the news about somebody sliding there $200,000 super car into a tree, or even worse, another car. So do yourself a favor and go to a three day driving school. It might just save your life (and your cars).

10.  2011 Lotus Evora


This 3.5L V6 produces an impressive 345-hp and 295lb-ft of torque. While those numbers might not sound that entirely great, but the car only weighs a mere 3,000lbs. So your performance thrill is going to be at the track. Sticky tires, mid-engine, and a light weight body makes this is a perfect recipe for a fun car to throw in the corners. Best part is that they can be found used for around 60k.



9. 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S


A small, yet extremely powerful 3.8L Flat-6 powers this iconic car to 60mph in only 4.3 seconds. While the Porsche weighs about the same as an Evora. The new engine produces 400hp and 325lb-ft of torque, so you can count on this passing it on the track. Even with a significant gain in power this year, some of the most important strides in Porsche technology are reduced weight from the previous 997. It�s lighter, more powerful, and better looking. Seems like a good buy for 90k



8. 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo 



This is car just shouts �Look at me!!!� and that�s exactly what people do, drive this car around and you can become an instant celebrity. Go for the bright yellow paint for the extra stare factor. While the looks may be crazy, the practicality of the car is even crazier. Little to no room for any of your stuff, and high cost of maintenance. But come on, it�s a Lamborghini!



7. 2008 Audi R8



This car is literally at the 100k mark, making it the most expensive on the list, but it�s also the best looking in many cases. With a 420-hp 4.2L engine launching this car to 60mph in just four seconds! This is an overall great car to own, newer Audi's tend to be more reliable than there other German counterparts. The trunk is big enough for two peoples luggage for a cross county trip. Its fun to drive, fast, beautiful, and practical in the super car world, make it a first on your choice when you consider buying an exotic.



6.  2014 SRT Viper



Back for 2014 is the Viper, although it is less likely to bite you this time around. Several different types of traction control have been added (by law) and the interior has been redesigned so you actually want to spend time in it. Looks and interior is not the only thing that has been changed this year, new under the hood sits an 8.4L monster that produces 640-hp! Making this snake fly to 60mph in 3.3 seconds. All of this sounds great, but I would wait about a year before you get your hands on one. Current MSRP is 97,395, wait your turn and you could get one for less than 90k.



5. 2012 Chevrolet ZR1 



This is a car that defies what we Americans can do. A 6.2L engine produces 638-hp, and 604 ft-lbs of torque. All of those impressive numbers make for a car that can do 0-60 in less than three seconds. The fun doesn�t end when you get off the drag strip; this car wants to be thrown into the corners, racing tires, low center of gravity, and the best suspension Chevy has ever produced, makes this a wolf in sheep�s clothing.



4. 2010 Porsche GT3 



The GT3 has always been the most bad ass Porsche ever to be created; it takes the already crazy fast Porsche 911 and throws it out the window. More power, more grip, less weight, and a beautiful body to wrap it up. 0-60 comes in at only 3.7 seconds. Take this car to your local track, you won�t be disappointed



3. 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS63 AMG



After all of these crazy cars, I decided that we needed a refined, elegant car for this list, and the 2012 CLS63 fit that perfectly. This car is more than just refined and luxurious, this is the AMG model. A 550-hp engine, with a 4.3 second 0-60, it makes in one of the fastest production sedans of all time. Straight line performance is great, but the real surprise is when the going gets twisty, I honestly don�t know how is car performs so astounding in the corners. So hats off to the AMG team in Germany for building this amazing Super-Sedan (good idea right?)



2. 2011 Maserati Granturismo S



While this is classified as a car, it�s not, it is Art. Everything from the huge, gaping grill, slim headlights, and sharp creases make this one of the best looking cars being produced today. On the Performance side of thing, a 4.7L V8 engine powers this car-err, art to 60mpg in 4.9 seconds. It�s the slowest on the list, but who cares; it�s by far the best looking. So go stop by your local car� I mean art dealership and pick one up today.



1. 2014 Nissan GTR 

First things first, I said in the beginning that the list is in no particular order; forget about that, this is the best car you can buy for 100k. New for 2014 is 15 more horsepower under the hood bumping it up 545-hp. 0-60 comes in at 2.8 seconds. If every car on this list was to have a drag race with this car. Nothing would come close. So do yourself a favor and buy the king of the automotive world, the Nissan GTR.    

NSX Concept Review

This is a vehicle that many have waited for. This is a vehicle that combines elegance, style, and power. This is the Acura NSX concept. Powering the concept is a mid engine V6 sending power to the rear wheels. To make the car worthy of the SH-AWD title it needs to be AWD, and to make it AWD it has two electric motors in the front wheels that improves handling and efficiency. The separate electric motor in the dual clutch transmission forms the hybrid setup. This AWD setup will provide supercar acceleration with great efficiency. Worst Cars Of All Time






We all have those moments when you look out your car window and see cars that just make you wonder �How did that ever get to the showroom?� well, to make a long story short, it usually happens when a car maker is new to a segment, like the first time Pontiac made a cross-over, it turned out to be one of the worst cars ever to be produced. Although another reason for the creation of amazingly bad cars is a rushed production. So find out what caused the worst automobile disasters in this list.

10.  1957 Trabant

 

Most likely one of the worst two-cylinder engines ever produced, bumpy ride, even the slightest hills put this car to a halt, and to make it worse, East Germany forced you to buy the car.
9. 2007 Jeep Compass

If I could describe this car in one word it would probably be �weak� and that is exactly what it is. With an underpowered engine that only makes a mere 158-hp. The engine is not the only thing that is weak in this car, the styling needed a serious kick in the pants. 

8. 1977 Dodge Charger


While the 1st generation charger was, and still is considered one of the best looking cars of all time, by the late 70�s, Chrysler had already ruined any future potential. Extremely underpowered, and it looked like a brick, drove like one to.

7. 1997 Daewoo Nubira


Most likely the most boring car of all time. Looked boring, sounded boring, interior was boring, and all of the boring killed Daewoo's chances of making any ground in the US.

6. 1986 Suzuki Samurai


Although this little SUV was slow and underpowered, sharp turns at 20-mph could mean a nasty rollover. Not a recommended car for the back roads, in fact, it�s not that good on any roads.

5. 1970 AMC Gremlin 


With oldly proportioned style, this car was doomed to fail as soon as it hit show room floors. Other than strange styling, it carried a heavy six-cylinder engine that made it nose heavy, ruining any chances of fun being made it this car.
4. 2007 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx SS

Looks like a wagon? So it must have plenty of room for all of my stuff right? Wrong, cramped back seat, and not nearly as much room as you would expect from a wagon. The 4-speed transmission is one of the worst slush boxes in modern car history. Whats worse than all of this, is that it came packaged in one of the worse designs in history, not worthy of the SS name.

3. 1974 Ford Mustang


Its pretty much just a dressed up Pinto that didn�t explode, underpowered and unreliable, a slap in the face for Mustang fans. A worthy successor to the 1st generation Mustang would not arrive until the 80�s with the Fox Body.
2. 2003 Saturn lon

Slapped together with super glue and cheep craftsmanship. The only good thing about this car was the exterior, and that is nothing to be proud of. While you might have thought the exterior was OK, that all ended when you stepped into the interior, which was a sea of plastic and cheep materials.

2012 Corvette Review



The Corvette is an absolute powerhouse of a car and the Convertible Model adds a new, unique flair to this already famous muscle car.
The 2012 Corvette packs a 6.2L supercharged V8 that produces 580 HP, and 556 lb-ft of torque through a 6 speed manual transmission as well as power going to the rear wheels. 0-60 happens in 4.4 seconds and with a top speed of 186 MPH. The exterior sports bold and aggressive styling with cut off LED headlamps, this adds a unique look that look that shows other drivers that this car packs its' fair share of muscle under the hood.
 Meanwhile, the interior is equipped with both leather and sport seats. While this does give the car a classier look, the overall impression is ruined by the selection of plastics found throughout the interior. These Plastics range from expensive looking, quality pieces, to selections that fall far from desired and lack the dignified air that the rest of the car gives off.
On the exterior, the car's massive hood is outfitted with a scoop which sucks air into the engine so that the V8 is cooled, as well as powering the supercharger. Benefits aside, the scoop gives the Convertible a striking look that's guaranteed to turn heads.
Over all, for $61,745, there are better cars on the market than this; however, if the American V8 engine, style, and quality are your thing, then this car is perfect for you.

2012 Gran Turismo Review



The 2012 Gran Turismo is an Italian sports coupe that's great as it is; however, does require some major upgrades.
 It's 4.2L V8 produces 405 HP. The Gran Turismo can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 5.2 seconds, and its' top speed is record as being around 186mph.
Despite its' appearance, the Gran Turismo is more comfortable than many think. The interior is outfitted with full grain leather and an exclusive touch screen system. 
The front end of the exterior is not only modeled with the signature Maserati look, but also with a special Gran Turismo style. The LED running lamps and xenon lamp are formed presented in an aggressive styling package. The car's character lines form a stylish and aggressive presence that follows through into a strong and muscular looking rear.
Diffusers and aerodynamic features help the car stay planted to the ground, even at high speeds. When a car is designed with this much power and luxury, the price expected to be audacious. In the case of the Gran Turismo though, this magnificent sports car comes with the reasonable price that ranges from $123,000 - $142,800.

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster and Gallardo Spyder Review



The Lamborghini Aventador Roadster and the Gallardo Spyder are both known as Italian super-cars that are designed by the same manufacture. On the other hand, these two cars also feature many differences.

The Aventador is much newer than the Gallardo Spyder, and is equipped with more technologically advanced equipment as well as a better power train. The Aventador packs a whopping 6.5L V12 that produces 690 HP along with 509ft of torque through a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. This car can go from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds flat and can reach speeds up to 217mph. Many of the Aventadors components are carbon fiber and designed with more conscious design for styling and aerodynamics.

The Gallardo Spyder may be much older, but it still has a commendable Lambo V10. In the Spyder, the 5.5L V10 produces 560 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque through a 6 speed manual with power going through all four wheels. As if that wasn�t good enough, the Spyder can go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat and is recorded with a top speed of 201mph.

To top it off, the Aventador starts at $445,300; meanwhile, the Gallardo is priced at $225,400.

In the end, both of these topless racers exhibit many shared characteristics, but manage to maintain distinct identities.
